The range maps on each species page are the best way to determine the range of a species of Sphingidae. Please do note, that many of these organisms are exceptionally strong fliers and will sometimes show up well out of range. The range maps on the species pages are comprised of data from iNaturalist which has been verified by the authors or the community and represent the best approximation currently of where these organisms can be found. The observation data is of course incomplete and should not be considered finalized. There will always be updates to be made.
We are still working on a few new ways to display range, and have it be more interactive.

This page will help you look up what Sphingidae have been recorded in your state. Use the database search below to generate a checklist for your state. We are currently working on an interactive version, as well as county level data.
These are incomplete records! We are always trying to obtain more and fill out the state records. We aim to eventually support county level data as well. Have a record that isn't listed here? Submit it using the form at the bottom of this page.
