General Information: These smerinthine moths are often orange-brown in color with brightly colored gold, yellow, or orange hindwings. In the US we have possibly two speices, Protambulyx strigilis and Protambulyx carteri. Current taxonomy recognizes they are valid species, but there is debate. For these reasons, we have used the same species page for both on this website.
