To start this process, please click on your state below. This will bring you to the appropriate key for your region. All the keys are photo-illustrated and clickable with sources being found at the bottom of each key. For these keys to work, you must have a FINAL INSTAR CATERPILLAR. If you are unsure, go to the GENERAL INFORMATION page.
How to use:
To begin, start with couplet 1. You will notice there is a 1 and a 1’ (1 prime). Read the first part of the couplet, if doesn’t fit what you have, read the second line (the prime). Click the number after the part of the couplet that fits with your larva. Continue doing this until you arrive at a species.
**Note: Currently the only regions supported are Eastern (Blue), Florida (Teal), and Gulf Coast (Green). Please note, you can use the key to identify your larva, but it may not have a species page yet on the website.**
